Requirements: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Day to day you will keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots; remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron.
