Now hiring: we are hiring a JCB operator in Avery County, North Carolina. You will be based at a plant hire yard. Ideal candidate: • Minimum 2-3 years' experience operating earthmoving machinery • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination Day to day you will stockpile and spread material to the required levels; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension; level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines; load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket; read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles; backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations.
