Now hiring: we are hiring a counter butcher in Livingston Parish, Louisiana. You will be based at a wholesale meat market. Ideal candidate: • Confident knife skills and safe blade handling • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Quick and accurate on the weighing scales and order maths You will debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain; take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; stuff and link fresh sausages with casings. $4,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
