Urgent requirement: sewing machine operator (Virginia)

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in City of Alexandria, Virginia. You will work on an export house sewing floor. On a typical shift you will operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching. You should have: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
