Die-casting operator • Grant County, South Dakota

Now hiring: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Grant County, South Dakota. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. Your main tasks: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $18 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
