The role involves: • Maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose • Strike and hold a stable short-circuit or spray-transfer arc • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness Ideal candidate: • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Rotating shifts.
