We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry worker in Jackson County, Georgia. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Basic grinding and fettling skills The role involves: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Six days a week, one day off.
