Metal caster — Menominee County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a metal caster in Menominee County, Michigan. Day-to-day duties: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Six days a week, one day off.
