On the job you will handle: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through You should have: • Able to TIG weld stainless steel and aluminium to a neat standard • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
