The role involves: • Check sling angles to stay within the working load limit • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Read lift plans and method statements before starting What we are looking for: • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
