Stainless steel welder wanted in Klamath County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Klamath County, Oregon. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. The role involves: • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper Requirements: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
