Now hiring: we are hiring a fettler in Quay County, New Mexico. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Six days a week, one day off. $27 per hour, negotiable for the right hands.
