Hand presser • Essex County, New York

Now hiring: we are hiring a hand presser in Essex County, New York. You will be based in a tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts. Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings Six days a week, one day off. Pay around $4,900 per month, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
