Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Addison County, Vermont. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Full-time, day shift.
