Now hiring: bar bender and fixer (Oyo State)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Ori Ire, Oyo State. You will be based on a busy residential building site. On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts.
