Immediate opening: we are hiring a dogger in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. The job is on an offshore oil and gas platform. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Ability to read lift plans and rigging diagrams On a typical shift you will rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area; read lift plans and method statements before starting; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift. Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
