Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe tig welder in Iroquois County, Illinois. The job is at a precision engineering workshop. Requirements: • Steady hands and good close-up eyesight • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run; control heat input so thin sheet does not warp; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator.
