Steel fixing chargehand — Otero County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Otero County, New Mexico. You will work at a rebar fabrication workshop. The role involves: • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Lap and splice bars to the specified lap length • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder Ideal candidate: • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
