Gas pipeline fitter — Aleutians East Borough

Vacancy available: we are hiring a gas pipeline fitter in Aleutians East Borough, Alaska. Ideal candidate: • Competent in pipe threading, brazing and PE electrofusion • Physically fit for lifting pipe, meters and cylinders • Sound knowledge of gas safety regulations and pressure testing The role involves carry out tightness (pressure) tests with a manometer and lock off the supply; purge air from the lines and commission appliances to the correct gas rate; install gas meters, regulators and isolation valves; test combustion and flue gases with a flue gas analyser; thread, ream and join black iron pipe with pipe wrenches and thread sealant; check every joint for leaks with soapy water and leak-detection spray. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
