Ideal candidate: • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings Your main tasks: • Carry out 6G pipe welds where required • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
