Metal caster — San Joaquin County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a metal caster in San Joaquin County, California. The job is at a busy iron foundry. Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills 3+ years on the tools preferred.
