You should have: • An eye for finish — no scratches, clean welds, flush beads • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges • Able to read cutting lists and fabrication drawings On the job you will handle: • Drill drainage and pressure-equalisation slots in the outer frame • Fit fly screens, sills and trickle vents • Take site measurements of openings before fabrication • Cut uPVC profiles to size on a double-mitre saw at 45 degrees • Fit EPDM gaskets and brush-pile weather seals along the rails • Clean welded corners on a corner-cleaning machine and chisel off the weld flash Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
