Sample machinist • Wyoming County, New York

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a sample machinist in Wyoming County, New York. You will work on an export house sewing floor. You will match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go; meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality. Requirements: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance 4+ years on the tools preferred.
