Earthmoving plant operator — City of Fredericksburg

Immediate opening: we are hiring an earthmoving plant operator in City of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The job is at a road-building project. On the job you will handle: • Excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels • Load trucks with spoil, aggregate and overburden using the bucket • Keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook • Check for underground cables and services before digging • Stockpile and spread material to the required levels • Top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance • Willing to work at remote sites and mines on a roster Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
