Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Douglas County, Kansas. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding On the job you will handle: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand 1+ years on the tools preferred.
