Urgent requirement: we are hiring a hand presser in City of Lexington, Virginia. What we are looking for: • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings Your main tasks: • Keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Hang or fold pressed garments and pass them to packing • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
