Argon welder — Juneau City and Borough

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welder in Juneau City and Borough, Alaska. You will be based in a pharmaceutical piping facility. What we are looking for: • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection On a typical shift you will inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; run root passes and fill passes on pipe joints; carry out 6G pipe welds where required.
