Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixer in Lancaster County, Virginia. The job is on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. You should have: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements Day to day you will lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors. Full-time, day shift. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. Pay around $31 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
