Requirements: • Comfortable welding mild steel, stainless and aluminium • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Knowledge of short-circuit and spray-transfer modes Day to day you will weld in flat, horizontal and vertical-up positions; bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding; maintain the torch liner, earth clamp and gas hose; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness.
