Immediate opening: we are hiring a shuttering carpenter in Howard County, Arkansas. Ideal candidate: • Able to keep pace with tight pour schedules • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long shifts • Sound understanding of props, bracing and load-bearing Day-to-day duties: • Read formwork drawings and setting-out marks to position the shutters • Fix stop ends and kickers at the construction joints • Strike and strip the formwork once the concrete has cured • Set up adjustable steel props and falsework to support the slab decking • Box out openings for doors, windows and service penetrations • Repair damaged plywood and timber shutters Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
