Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry operative in Newton County, Mississippi. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling The role involves: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
