Vacancy available: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Person County, North Carolina. The job is at a busy garment factory. You should have: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching The role involves: • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
