Vacancy available: we are hiring a gas metal arc welder in Sauk County, Wisconsin. Requirements: • Able to grind, fit-up and tack independently • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances • ITI in welder trade or equivalent Day-to-day duties: • Bevel and grind the joint edges clean before welding • Tack components to the jig and check the fit-up against the drawing • Lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints • Read fabrication drawings and weld symbols • Set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness • Check welds for porosity, undercut and lack of penetration Full-time, day shift.
