Now hiring: we are hiring a fettler in Johnson County, Georgia. Day to day you will check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 1+ years on the tools preferred.
