Now hiring: we are hiring a backhoe loader operator in Hertford County, North Carolina. The job is in an open-cast mine. Your main tasks: • Keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook • Carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension • Backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations • Check for underground cables and services before digging • Read site drawings and follow the batter and slope profiles Requirements: • Able to operate excavator, loader and dozer confidently • Good depth perception and hand-eye coordination • Understanding of safe digging near underground services Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
