Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Rensselaer County, New York. The job is on an export house sewing floor. Day to day you will press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
