Urgent requirement: garment machinist (Iowa)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a garment machinist in Franklin County, Iowa. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. The role involves: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift What we are looking for: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
