Immediate opening: we are hiring a fusing press operator in Westchester County, New York. The job is in a tailoring workshop. Day to day you will operate the steam press and vacuum table to finish garments; sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; give each garment a final press before packing. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
