Furnace operator — Buncombe County

Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Buncombe County, North Carolina. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Requirements: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Basic grinding and fettling skills Your main tasks: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
