Fire and safety officer — Carroll County

Now hiring: we are hiring a fire and safety officer in Carroll County, Virginia. You will work at a busy construction site. Your main tasks: • Record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date • Audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges • Take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry • Run the permit-to-work system for hot work and confined-space entry • Ensure MSDS/SDS sheets are on hand for every chemical on site You should have: • Valid first aid and basic firefighting training • Confident enough to halt unsafe work on the spot At least 1 year(s) in a similar role.
