Blocklayer — Story County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a blocklayer in Story County, Iowa. Day to day you will brushing the wall down and removing mortar snots as you go; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder; bedding in air bricks, weep holes and wall starters. What we are looking for: • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Reliable timekeeping and able to hit daily brick targets Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Pay around $4,900 per month, based on your experience. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Rotating shifts. Contact us to fix an interview.
