Steel fixer • Albany County, New York

We are recruiting: we are hiring a steel fixer in Albany County, New York. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. You should have: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements The role involves: • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat Six days a week, one day off. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Walk-in interviews this week.
