We are recruiting: turning centre operator (Scotland)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a turning centre operator in Shetland Islands, Scotland. The job is in a tool room. What we are looking for: • Comfortable standing for long shifts and lifting up to 20 kg • Minimum 2 years on CNC lathes with Fanuc or Siemens controls Day-to-day duties: • Measure finished parts with micrometers and vernier calipers • Set up workpieces in three-jaw chucks and collets • Change worn carbide inserts and monitor tool wear • Read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T tolerances Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. £13 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
