Lathe operator — City of Baltimore

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a lathe operator in City of Baltimore, Maryland. You will work in a CNC machine shop. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of lockout-tagout and machine safety • Basic record-keeping and part-counting skills • ITI or diploma in fitter or machinist trade an advantage On the job you will handle: • Follow lockout-tagout before cleaning or clearing the machine • Monitor gauges and stop the machine when readings drift • Record output, scrap and downtime on the production sheet • Run the first-off piece and check it against the drawing • Segregate finished parts into bins and label the batches • Key in cycle parameters such as speed, feed rate and temperature Six days a week, one day off.
