Immediate opening: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Marengo County, Alabama. The job is in a steel fabrication yard. On the job you will handle: • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings You should have: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles Pay around $3,700 per month, based on your experience.
