Great opportunity: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator in Brazos County, Texas. The job is at a stone quarry. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of pre-start inspections and basic machine maintenance • Understanding of safe digging near underground services • Willing to work at remote sites and mines on a roster The role involves: • Level and grade the road sub-base to the surveyor's pegs and string lines • Top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects • Backfill and compact soil around pipes and foundations • Work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals • Keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines • Excavate trenches and foundations to the marked depths and grade levels Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
