Immediate opening: we are hiring a slinger signaller in Jasper County, Illinois. You will work at a power plant. Requirements: • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites Day to day you will direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; read lift plans and method statements before starting; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks.
