Sand plant operator wanted in Mackinac County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Mackinac County, Michigan. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $4,800 per month, negotiable for the right hands. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Full-time with occasional weekends. Walk-in interviews this week.
