Immediate opening: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Knox County, Indiana. You will be based at a stainless steel fabrication shop. Day-to-day duties: • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Rotating shifts.
