Industrial sewing operator — Cumberland County

Great opportunity: we are hiring an industrial sewing operator in Cumberland County, Illinois. The job is at a busy garment factory. Day-to-day duties: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Meet the hourly piece-rate target without dropping quality • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes Ideal candidate: • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams 4+ years on the tools preferred.
